I’ve mentioned it before, but I’m so crazy excited I thought I’d write up a quick description of Templamatic, a project I’ve been working on with Ben Harper for the past few months. Templamatic is an online design community where you can buy or sell premium templates. Templamatic will have forums and a blog full of useful info to go along with all the fine templates. Here’s a quick run down of how it works:
Top designers can sign up and submit original templates. We are going to accept a wide variety of formats (CSS/XHTML templates, WordPress and Drupal themes, even MySpace and other social network themes). Templamatic will handle the sale and payment processing, while the designer earns up to 90% comission on all sales. Templamatic will be a perfect place for web masters or site flippers who need access to large amounts of quality templates. All the templates will be quality inspected and must be standards compliant and cross-browser compatible.
Templamatic is coming soon. In the next few weeks, we are going to open the beta sellers program, where designers can get their templates accepted and ready to sell before the site launches. If you want to participate and can’t wait that long, or you just want to talk, leave a comment and we can discuss it.
